But this is not why we went to war. IMO, we went to war because of 9-11. We are sending a message, you **ck with us, you pay. I don't have a problem with that.
But Saddam and bin Laden were not in cahoots on 9-11. So how is it that we needed to send a message to Saddam not to eff with us, when we let bin Laden escape? The message to bin Laden is that we won't eff with him as long as he's hiding behind the skirt of Musharif.
As for your retorical question regarding the Iraqi oil...and who should control it? It should be the Iraqi people. There were no Al Qaeda terrorists controlling Iraqi oil. Saddam controlled the oil, under the restrictions imposed by the UN. The idea being that pressure on Saddam could force a political change. That approach was working, and with a little more pressure it would have forced a political change in Iraq. The war will not force Iraq to become democratic, unless the people want that too.
Asking who should control the oil in Iraq, is like asking who should control the oil in Saudi Arabia? The North Sea, China?
Will the Bush administration take control of the Iraqi oil to pay for the war and the reconstruction? He has not told us what his intentions are. What is the 87 billion for? What the plan is for Iraq? Her has told us nothing, except for empty phrases like bring em on, lies and half truths.
Trust is eroding in this administration, even from the right.
