Either "Traitor" outright, or traitor by implication.
This is a speciality of the political process, slander by implication and innuendo, odius comparisons.

I'd like to think your surmisal correct, but expect is being disproved as we speak. There is a meaner, more aggressive tone now, and will be over the next several days to 9/11, and further on the runup to the election.

Fact and argument are the methods of a healthy Democratic Republic, but as with the Estrada temper tantrum, those on the front lines of the Adminstration refuse investigation and debate, and rely on hatchet men.
