Approximately 6,300 Rx's were filled in July and about 800 of them were refills. That's 50% growth over the previous month. 5,500 new scripts represents around 2% of the total new scripts for the older NSAIDS and 0.8% of the new Rx's for all anti-arthritic drugs.
Pennsaid appears to be on its way to commercial success in at least Canada. And with these numbers, the company is suddenly in a much stronger bargaining position for the distribution rights in the U.S. I expect they'll be putting a lot of pressure on the would-be distributor to sign an agreement now.
