Michael, you need to get out more, read some serious left columns. Picking on Josh Marshall, who, incidentally, is fairly new at this stuff, is not even close to serious reading of anything to Bush's left. As I said before, if you have this kind of a problem, this harsh a bit of language, for Marshall, you should, actually I'm going to change my recommendation, stay away from adult left criticism of Bush. It would give you nausea.

Bush is easily the worst president this country has had since Herbert Hoover, perhaps worse. You should read the criticism which documents that charge. That would certainly expand your political horizons but would do damage to your digestive system.

And, hate to say this, but it's only going to get stronger as we get closer to the 04 presidential campaigns and elections. And you are only going to see more foreign policy moves more obviously dictated by domestic political concerns, concerns which run counter to his original aims. This last one, the visit to the UN, was certainly such but this will become more obvious over the next few months. They will be as transparent as the steel tariff decisions.

Looks as if living in Italy hasn't broadened your viewpoints. But then I'm partially envious. Would love to take about a six month period to live in Italy. Have fun.
