i haven't looked through today's posts yet ( as an anecdotal sentiment gauge of sorts ) , but i for one have been selling a little again. sell euphoria, buy despondence is my motto. and if this morning's spike highs didn't denote euphoria, i don't know what would qualify. the speculator net long position on COMEX has no doubt reached yet another record high...that should give everybody a little pause ( yes i know, it 'doesn't matter' ) .
anyway, i'm still net long quite a bit myself...so i wouldn't yet characterize my stance as negative. only as 'even more cautious', but in the sense of 'cautiously optimistic'. the fact remains that money flows into gold stocks are STILL positive, which suggests that the market isn't really worried yet about the positioning in the COMEX futures. it also suggests that those funds may KNOW something, or at least THINK they know something that the public-at-large isn't aware of yet. one wonders what that could be?
