brent, a joined egg and sperm are not a "human being", either. they don't equate. where did god say 23 chromosomes iw not worth protecting, but 46 is? did i miss that scripture or are you just making this up? -lol- it is a joined egg and sperm that will become a human being if everything goes right. the question is whether that joined egg and sperm should be protected LIKE a human being b/c of the reasonable expectation it will BECOME a human being. a chicken egg is not a chicken. your logic is flawed. having said all that, i'm not sure when life that will reasonably become human life should be protected so my view is to protect it all. after all, the whole process is a miracle in my mind and i don't like messing with miracles. we agree mated eggs and sperm should be protected, but you take it a step further and argue god somehow endowed you with special knowledge. my point is he didn't and so we should protect it out of respect for possibly doing the wrong thing.
