Interesting. I have around 16 holdings now - and only 2 are in the red - SFLX and ETHCY. I'm buying more of both. In fact I did today.

You struck a nerve Paul. Bandwidth. If you understand what bandwidth will do to the computer/communications/electronics industry in the future you will be poised to make big money. I understand @home is outstanding - I'd almost sell my house for the connect. Just read Gates book "The Road Ahead" and he has a whole chapter on bandwidth and the potential it has to revolutionize this country.

How to play bandwidth? Most fiber optic and telecom type companies are really expensive, and I'm sure when @Home goes public it will be expensive . Here is a play for the next decade you might want to look at: Dycom. Company installs and is engineering consultants to all the phone/telecom/utilities that are upgrading their switches and systems to provide that elusive bandwidth. They are not making a product so don't have to worry about obsolescence, and are not the ones making the capital expendatures so don't put a lot of money on the line.

But over the next decade billions will be spent on system upgrades - and more and more will be outsourced in the competitive telecom market. DY sells for a PE of around 18 now (was cheaper 6 months ago).

Like beer or money, you can never get enough bandwidth.

My take on DY is at members.aol.com

Best - Joe
