No one is talking about a 'Berlin Wall', you nuge... all that is under discussion is cost-effective increases to security of undefended and ill-secured chemical plants (thousands of them have been identified by the Interior and EPA, located in major metro areas, each capable of killing hundreds of thousands of US citizens within 30 minutes of being blown - if the wind is 'right'), nuclear plants - most of which have FAILED all the security drills Homeland Security has run, even when given 30 days advance notice, container-handling port facilities, etc.

A 24 hour security guard and an electronic monitored fence for many of these plants is likely to be far more cost effective than bridge building in Baghdad... but, the two things are not mutually exclusive.
