What don't you understand? Why did people cling to Jim and Tammy until Jim was finally imprisoned? Why do people like to assemble jig saw puzzles, watch the hugely popular WWF matches, or still laugh at SNL a good thirty years since it ceased being funny? The same reason a log is powerless while caught up in the current?
