He is not spending as if we were in one. That is part of the point, even the deficits are exaggerated, if compared to the Roosevelt Administration.

It is not at all clear that 9/11 has nothing to do with Saddam. But even if it were so, the point is that there are existential threats to this country, and that Saddam was had adequate reason to get in on the action, eventually if not yet.

It would have been better if Hitler had been dealt with at least after violating the Versailles Treaty and remilitarizing the Rhineland, about four years before the outbreak of war. That is what we are trying to do here, to act before there are millions of dead and displaced persons.......
