Iraq's fling with WMD ended 12 years ago. Iraq's WMD were designed to inflict mass death on the battlefields of Iran and to intimidate others such as Kuwait. None of this had anything whatsoever to do with terrorism. Saddam simply wanted a way to do what we do when we invade -- kill a lot of troops who are massed to attack. We don't need Saddam's WMD, which are all third-world "wannabe a big power on the cheap" kinds of weapons. We crush our foes on the battlefield with an arsenal of weapons unmatched by any country in the world. Weapons that turn people inside out. Weapons that cook people as they stand. Weapons that cut people into tiny pieces. Weapons that suck lungs from people's chests -- it would take a week to list them. None of this makes us terrorists -- and the military that Saddam had pre-91 was straight forward and completely unrelated to terror.
