Sun isn't interested in windows applications. Sun has developed Java and makes hardware for the NC which as it stands now is perfect for Office applications. Sun needs software for the NC. COJ would be a nice fit for Sun and give them a total package to deploy in a office. Also Wordperfect has instant product recognition and is almost ready for release. When you buy a company you are buying the product and Corel has already state more Java products are under development such as Coreldraw which is being converted to Java. The NC and office applications has the potential to generate big earnings.

Like you said Sun could license COJ but then as a director of the company you have to determine which way will generate more earnings for your investment in the long run. Which option you pick seperates the good companies from the average. Don't forget at one time Novell paid 1 Billion to Borland for WP and as everbody knows now that it was a bad investment. If COJ is a hit then the price of the company will be very high so if you think it's going to be a hit then now is the time to buy. Corel is very undervalued so it's vulnerable for a take over but the big Kahuna Cowpland has lots of shares so it would have to be on his terms.

What info do have you to make this statement ?
< Sun has a closer working relationship with Lotus right now for its Java needs than with Corel.>
