I understand what you mean about the inclination to spend, however, taxes pay for government services. Not paying for them now transfers the cost to future generations and harms the ability of future generations to do things like buy a house and get a job -- a large national debt is a drag on the economy down the road. I don't think that people ten or twenty years from now, saddled with a monsterous debt, will be very interested in an ideological explanation of why it had to be done to be "fair" to somebody so rich that Ceaser himself would have gasped.
