Very interesting perspective on Prechter.

Although I think he is way off the mark on $200 gold, I do respect his opinion on other matters. I have read his last two books ("...Tidal Wave" and "Conquer the Crash") and although I don't completely agree with either they are both very informative and very well thought-out.

In the "Conquer the Crash" book he seems to imply that gold will get crushed by deflationary sources along with just about everything else, but when it reaches $200 it will be a great buy. The problem that I find with this reasoning is that what would people be buying as the dollar gets relentlessly hammered? And what about the fear and angst that such a massive deflation would cause?
