they will have no choice but to rearrange the tax situation in some way as we continue to lose between 50K-150K/month. Of course I know the current political status quo don't want to do anything about SS, otherwise they would have done it. But now, market dynamics will force a change.

I am a manager in engineering, I used to have 30 people working for me once at peak of the bubble, 99.

Now 4 years later I am working for a company (consultant) and this company has a higher backlog now than they did in the late 90s. It is a chip company. The difference is, this time, I have about 100 people offshore reporting to me. Not direct reports, these are consulting companies. But the net net of it is we had 31 people paying taxes in 99 and ONE in 2003 (me) with the same or greater demand generation. Just run the numbers.
