Now you might complain that it is an exageration when I wrote forever blind since I preclude the possiblility of gaining the ability to see in the future, but that is merely a rhetorical device to illustrate how obvious I think that example of manipulation and deception is.

Its not so obvious except perhaps with information which most people don't know. Its not even being "blind to it" if we are not shown "it", only if we are shown it and still do not see.
