Gottfried, I always check IU first (have a shortcut on my desktop). Today it said there was a manual IU update dated September 10th and right under that it said there was a Live Update dated September 10th... same number of virus definitions in both. I prefer using the Live Update since it is not only faster, but also downloads any program updates that are available... while IU only updates the virus definitions. What I don't understand is why Live Update connected, scanned for updates and said I was current when the Symantec IU site: securityresponse.symantec.com says there is a Live Update available dated September 10th.
