Your premise: People who oppose Bush are just chronic whiners.

My premise: Bush has no redeeming value. Therefore when those who oppose him speak, they sound like whiners to his supporters because everything they say about him is bad.

But, to address the fear issue - a lot of the folks who post here do so anonymously. I'd be willing to wager that they tone it down a bit out in the real world.
Unless, of course, they're in a 'Free Speech Zone" established by the police to prevent protesters from getting too close to GWB and his ilk.
