Hi John, trust you are keeping well.
> So he goes along with irresponsible policy just because he likes his job and wants to keep it? Maybe this rationale is understandable but I still think you need to hold people accountable.
It IS his job to print money. That's what the Fed is for. He is accountable --- if he doesn't print, then he's not doing his job. Furthermore, he believes in it and, indeed, there's no doubt that he's good at it too. Never before, in the history of the world, has anyone created so much money out of thin air! That's no mean achievement considering how many have dreamed about it or tried to do it, even in a small way.
Colin Powell, on the other hand, gave a BS story to legitimize the war. In fact, it was extremely well presented and he must have had considerable help. That's why it was so credible. In fact, he was the only one of the gang that the world would have believed --- and they knew it.
So, it could be argued that he, too, was doing his job although one would have imagined that he would have had some integrity. Anyway, as I see it, he did what he was told --- and if he didn't do it they would have gotten rid of him, maybe even killed him, and brought in someone else who would have done their bidding. It's perfectly clear that the clique was determined to have their war, come what may. They are bad guys and that's no maybe. One doesn't mess with such people. |
