Balancing the budget causes depressions. It does so EVERY time. Paying back the debt (i.e., running surpluses) causes the deflation that makes depressions last indefinitely.

Ignoring (completely) the deficit to decrease and eventually eliminate taxes on capital formation (and, as bonus, decreasing public influence on the private sector) creates the long-term growth that MINIMIZES the debt, and allows it to be expanded for the NEXT economic growth, by which great nations survive.

THAT is the reality of macro-economics (though it has the opposite effect in microeconomics-a difference that few understand, and most demagogue.)

History has PROVEN the above again and again with NO exceptions. Reagan understood it, and thus created the world we live and prosper in today. Clinton and his bond-whore, Rubin, denied it, and created the recent deflationary recession of the last three years.

The Marxist/Leninist anti-American left has clouded this unrelenting history with propaganda and revisionism, but it is the seminal reality of our economic world. We ignore this reality to our great ruin...
