There is the rub. We are citizens of the US but are we not also citizens of the world? Or are we rulers of the world? If neither we should be totally isolated and that includes all trade and flow of people. The articles of confederation were not enough for the founders and the Un is similar today. Both are however a start to build something that could be great.
