Warren Zevon Quits Smoking

CaliFORNya, Sept. 7, 2003

Warren Zevon, the excitable boy, quit smoking this
afternoon just before falling asleep for the first
time in 56 years. By never sleeping, Zevon was able
to experience as much cumulative waking consciousness
as would a person 85 years of age with normal sleeping
habits... like... say... Nelson Mandela. However, by
never sleeping, Zevon was not able to dream and hence,
never brought about the kind of change in the world
that dreamers like Phil and Don Everly did.
