I've stopped reading Friedman after being very impressed with his books and his man-on-the-street knowledge of the ME. He waffles, he wrings his hands, he sweats, he moans and groans like a teenager, then, after I've all but dismissed him as someone worth reading, he'll startle with a pearl of wisdom. Unfortunately, I don't have enough time to wade through the crap in order to find the increasingly rare bits of insight. But I'll read his latest on your rec.
