I hate to chime in on such a non investment issue....but as I sit here in the U.S. while my wife sits across the ocean in england where she has had major but certainly not unusual or elective surgery I have to wonder. Just what DOES my independently bought at great expense medical insurance not exclude as a preexisting condition? Private care, excellent surgeon, MUCH better food, no one pushing her out the door after two days and at half the price.

It seems crazy to have to go to another country to get affordable urgent medical service. But I did. This debate used to be hypothetical for me, no more.
