Ever try to buy an individual policy when you or any member of your family has a preexisting condition (of any sort)? Yes, I do know because there were a few exclusions on my policy (some had a time limit and one was forever). This is why people need to look for insurance when they are still young and healthy and it needs to be portable. I can't tell you how many times people I know have stayed in jobs they hated because they didn't want to lose the medical benefits. If I'd make one major change it would be that insurance policies weren't attached to jobs. I sure wouldn't want the government running healthcare, they suck at everything else they provide, why people here think they'd be good at that is beyond me. Imagine going to the MVA for a broken arm.
