Two U.S. Soldiers Die, 7 Hurt in Iraqi Firefight, Military Says
Sept. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Two U.S. soldiers were killed and seven others wounded today in a firefight as they carried out a raid in the Iraqi town of Ramadi, west of the capital, Baghdad, the U.S. Central Command said in an e-mailed statement.

The military gave no information on the target of the raid or the identities of the assailants. The military said the attackers fired on the soldiers with small arms. The raid took place at about 3 a.m. Baghdad time, according to the statement.

The soldiers are from Combined Joint Task Force Seven, the Tampa, Florida-based command said. Their names were withheld pending notification of their families.

Ten members of an Iraqi security agency were killed and five policemen injured earlier today when U.S. soldiers shot them in the second ``friendly fire'' incident in two days in the central Iraqi town of Fallujah, Agence France-Presse cited police as saying.
