The war on racism and social prejudice were waged entirely within the United States.
That's BS.. Nazi Germany was preaching anti-Semitism and racial superiority, and they didn't do it in English.
The US is not the sole bastion of racism in the world Bilow. It exists everywhere, in every society. And when such racism has threatened to impact the interests of the US, we've been required to stand against it, both internally and externally.
I mean come on... why are people racist? Because they either have an inferiority complex of their own to deal with, do not want to embrace different and strange cultures, or they seek to dominate and control other cultural segments of a society.
But in a political form, racism is the means by which demagogues seek to unify a segment of society behind them by dividing the overall society with fear, suspicion, and hatred.
And the Islamofacists are no different. They believe they are superior. They believe Allah is on their side and will not permit them to fail in forcibly imposing their beliefs upon others, either directly, or through intimidation. Only their way is correct and no dissent or free-thinking is to be permitted.
And the Islamofascists are no different than those early Christian militants who initiated the crusades, divine right of kings, and religious government during the middle ages.
YET, somehow out of that tradition of religious intolerance and monarchial totalitarianism, democracy was able to take hold in the Christian world.
So to claim that the muslim world is not compatible with democracy is to overlook the road that Christian derived societies have traveled to embrace democracy and render religion to a peaceful battle for souls, rather than the political imposition of their religious beliefs.
That's the problem that has long been overlooked in the middle east.. Modern technology blended with medieval political and religious intolerance. Globalization and Islamofascism are utterly imcompatible and these militant leaders recognize that.
But the manner in which we fight this war requires that we empower the moderate and modernist elements of these societies to oppose and defend against the militant ideologies. Because the battle is their's to win or lose, and we must let them be on the front lines, while providing them whatever support they require to win.
And we must prevent entire generations of children from being rendered socially dysfunctional and unable to survive in the modern world. The Islamofascist concept of education is to memorize the Koran, not to learn algebra (a muslim invention), biology, or any other hard science. Thus, the 40% of the Muslim world currently under the age of 18 are at a risk of NEVER being properly prepared to lead a productive life.
Little wonder they are susceptible to suicide bombings. They grow up believing they are good for nothing else.
Adults teach children how to hate Bilow. They don't learn it by themselves.
So to say that Arabs all hate us is ridiculous. Many do, and many don't.
In fact, a recent Zogby poll in Iraq reflected that 60% of the Iraqi people, when asked what government they would most like to emulate, chose the United States.
So we have 40% who may not want to have our form of government, but 60% do. And that's the 60% I want to support, while hoping to eventually convince the other 40%.
