Dean cant gets nominated on the first ballot unless he sweeps most of the primaries and gets over 50% of the votes. You're in fantasyland if you thnk otherwise.

Remember, regardless of vote counts, 37% of delegates remain under the party's control. The reason they do this is to block any upstart from running away with the party. It's speficially designed to stop guys like Dean. But Dean won't get anywhere near the delegates to qualify for a forced floor fight. He has too much competition. There will be at least six candidates left at the convention mostly likely, and five of them will have more delegates than Dean even if he surprises everyone and gets 35% of the votes like you want him to. Also, it is unlikely any of the other candidates will endorse Dean unless it's Kucinich. And he means almost nothing. I admire your idealism but quewstion your pragmatism. Besides, there's no reason to favor Dean over Kerry. clearly, Bush fears Kerry more, so give Bush what he doesn't want, not what he wants.
