thecow, thank you! thank you! I finally got up the courage to remove Windows Messenger as per your link dougknox.com I pasted in the run command. If you prefer to remove Windows Messenger manually, click Start, Run and enter the following command: RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove Free at last :) Had to reboot. OE still works. Gottfried
