To A Quarter Century Of Togetherness

Friend, I've known you
since time.
You kept me warm
thru ice ages
and when the earth warmed,
you held my hand
in reassurance and hope.
During springtime
you melted into the background
but when heavens exploded
under my feet

to carry the weight
