You make it sound as if Conseco was a going concern when Wendt took over, when it was actually on the verge of bankruptcy. His "turnaround plan" failed to save it, but I don't think it's accurate to say he ran it into the ground.

But I wouldn't disagree if you said he had gotten paid WAY too much.
