Listen John, how many ways can I say it? It takes two to tango.

Precisely why Arafat is now back in control in the West Bank. Sharon refused to negotiate seriously enough with Abbas, undermining his freedom of action within the Palestinian community. As I said before, the narrative you use simply ignores the ways in which the Israeli governments contribute to the present state of affairs. And, in doing so, becomes the classic stereotype of the other. So long as those abound, matters only get worse. It's the classic force and fear foreign policy.

And without any response from the US save letting Sharon's crew work its will, the future is dim, at best.
