Nice job on Villepin's statement, Jacob. I think the short of it is an almost certain civil war, a very likely partitioning of Iraq after large loss of life, and the extreme likelihood of two the three partitions controlled by elements deeply hostile to US interests. I gather the Bush people can see the same thing so this proposal, as stated here, is a nonstarter.
