Hmmm... I've been ambushed with the cover of the time difference. You guys could actually teach a thing or two about character assassinations to those insiduous Swedes... "Michael": I use my full name in order to take responsibility of my posts. I'm a graduate student in biochemistry with no ties to Nokia and no relatives working there. I have identified a couple of people with ties to the company, but so far the attempts to get them sloshed on vodka and pump them for info have been fruitless. The key CDMA personnel resides in San Diego, which kinda complicates things.
My sole goal is to help you in shaping your investment strategies in my own modest way. This is not a football match. National fervour has no place in investing and it's dangerous to get entangled in a them-versus-us mentality. I feel the hostility towards TDMA may be clouding the judgement of some of the otherwise very perceptive CDMA advocates. Let me help you!
I'm still somewhat confused about the Samsung numbers. Nokia would never release standby info without explicitly saying whether the numbers are achieved with standard batteries or not. I think we'll sort this out in a week or two. Even if the Samsung numbers are for extended batteries, I find them thought-provoking.
The whole point of discussing it now is to get a jump on stock market reaction to the new phones. Based on past product introductions in different standards I think Nokia's battery technology can be transferred to CDMA phones pretty well... in a couple of weeks we'll see whether I was right.

Have a great weekend,
Tero
