The state was controlled by Republicans during the mid nineties............The State Assembly was controlled by a Republican majority and the Gov was Pete Wilson. I am not very knowledgeable about coal versus gas powered plants but I do now that coal is quite toxic and produces alot of radioactivity. pushback.com That's a website that is monitored by a man who is highly knowledgeable. I haven't looked at that site recently but in the past they have had much factual info about energy related topics. Pat
