All Branches of the Armed Forces Now Using Xybernaut Wearable/Mobile Computing Technologies

FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 15, 2003--Xybernaut® Corporation (NASADQ: XYBR) today announced it has received an additional $510,000 contract from the Department of Defense for wearable computing hardware that will be used by the Air Force, Army and National Guard for maintenance activities.

The new contract is in addition to this quarter's previously announced DOD contracts for $600,000 in hardware and $1.6 million in services. This purchase order was awarded through the Xybernaut GSA schedule - a procurement instrument used to streamline government purchases. Xybernaut expects additional DOD purchase orders to be issued in the near future.

All branches of the military are now using Xybernaut equipment and services for a variety of operations. This new order expands the use of wearable/mobile hardware technologies for maintenance operations on major equipment at multiple locations in the U.S.

Xybernaut DOD hardware solutions in this additional order include the Mobile Assistant® V (MA® V) and Atigo® computers and a variety of additional proprietary and third party hardware components.

"The continued expansion of our DOD contracts demonstrates Xybernaut's ability to deliver an integrated solution that provides software, hardware and services support," said Steven A. Newman, Xybernaut president. "We believe our ability to deliver such a comprehensive wearable/mobile computing solution will help increase the effectiveness and productivity of military maintenance personnel."
