Darren/Selectric (whatever!) - on the subject of racism - I wonder if people of your ilk subscribe to the view that the only casualties that matter are American casualties (and Israeli)- never mind how many Iraqis are killed, or Afghans or Palestinians - the only ones that matter are American (and Israeli) boys and girls. Thousands of innocents killed by carpet bombs, cluster bombs, made sick by DU - and, hey, what the hell - but if ONE American is killed that's a different story. Mind you American deaths and casualties are piling up now so it's a little different. Things are coming home to roost. And I guess 9/11 was the beginning of the awaking for America - that in the end what goes around comes around. People in covert operations all over the world are now talking openly of being involved in 'World War 1V'. The British, French, and Spanish, to name but three countries, have suffered from the effects of terrorism for years and got precious little sympathy from this side of the pond, indeed in N. Ireland America seemed to turn a blind eye to fund raising on behalf of the IRA - but America now knows from its own bitter experience what it's like.
