It's not reasoning. It's faith. Faith that every conflict must somehow be solvable by compromise. It's disbelief in the possibility of existential conflicts. It's so much fun to take in sheer abstractions, isn't it. Particularly since no one occupies that territory. It's the classic, discredited distinction. My side are the dispassionate reasoners, the other side is emotional, irrational faith, whatever. Just one more of the stereotypes in which the other is, at best, unacceptable; at worst, demonized. Duality thinking squared.
