The moral hazard question is a major one especially from a political point of view. It relates to who the true beneficiaries of easy money really are. The answer: financial fat cat speculator types, Easy Al's buddies and cronies. That would largely be the Goldman Sachs, Fannie Maes, and Citicorps of the world, and certainly not Joe and Martha, who only experience cost squeezes, job loss and poor income growth. If Easy is challenged in this way (We know what you've done to bloat the financial sector (get some bubble charts made up to illustrate this!!!), but what's your policy done for the average American?) it should start to stick to the man behind the curtain.
