I know you are defending Buruma's claim to be arguing about intervention vs non-intervention, but when you get into the details, its ALL interventionism, only arguing about which type.

Not at all, you utterly misunderstand, and this is where your logic falls down. I don't read Buruma's article to advocate interventionism so there's no need to defend or to accept or whatever.

He simply pointed out some problems with the Left's intellectual foundations that really shouldn't be problems. Heck, if I wanted to spend the time doing so, I think I could construct a better argument than Vidal and the rest of the bozos mentioned by Buruma did. I just don't want to.

The Left is engaged in fingerpainting while the Right is much more acute in its formulations. It doesn't have to be that way, is Buruma's ultimate point. Simple as that.
