Michael,

Regardless of what you believe, the Florida court's decisions were consistent with its previous decisions in this area and the US Supreme Court was wildly inconsistent in the one key area, the earlier preference of most of the rep appointed judges to defer to state courts, state rights, etc. That led to a widespread decision that the inconsistency was a political one, reps voting for a rep president. That same perception is around about this California decision.

I'm not arguing whether they were only political or not. I'm arguing that we may well be moving into a different, less acceptable political culture in which we say judicial decisions are only political, ho hum.
