We put Pergo in our other house. It was fine, but I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be. It did dent, and in the first two years of normal household use we broke through the surface in two places, which had to be mended.

This house has solid wood floors, prefinished, and so far they're held up much better. More money, of course, but over the lifetime of the floor, seems that it will be worth it, since the Pergo floor will probably have to be replaced in five years or so.
