Well, think what you like, c2, the process of the Ginsburg nomination was bipartisan. I forget exactly what the vote for her confirmation was, but I recall it was not controversial, precisely because, in her selection, the views of republicans were considered. Seriously.

After 94 Clinton obviously took into consideration the changed political dynamics. Something Bush has not done and thus the conflict. The 02 margins for control of the Senate were slim at best and the Senate is for almost all intents and purposes a 50-50 split. Classic time when a president should reach out to the opposition to coonsider their views of judicial nominees. Seriously.
