The editorials seem to think a delay may be advantageous for all candidates, including Arnie, who can develop his platform further.
Why do you think a delay is more advantageous for Davis than any of the others?
I agree the courts should be wary of interfering in elections, at least on the federal level. The USSC should have stayed out of Florida, and will likely stay of of Calif.
However, the US Constitution leaves to the states the manner and method of voting, so the state courts should have the authority.
You seem suspicious of a delay just because its the 9th circuit, not because of the value to any particular contestant. It's unclear who the beneficiary would be, if any. The same with Bush, whose popularity could collapse or increase over time, depending on what happens with the economy, Iraq, more terrorism, scandals, etc. |
