I wasn't giving advice, except pay attention to what people are actually posting. I never advised people to board up their windows, I also never said that doing so would help against 100mph winds. I did say that at some point away from the worst of the storm there is probably a velocity where unprotected windows break and boarded ups ones don't. 100mph winds are too fast for boarded up windows. 10 mph winds don't do any damage. Someone in between normal windows break. At some faster speed boarded up windows break as well.

Having said that, I don't plan to board up my windows.

HOWEVER, if the winds are not that strong and the boards prevent the glass from shattering and water from coming in, they have served a useful purpose. "
