Interesting. I saw the current Commissioner Scott Thomas on one of the TV interview shows just the other day. And he said point blank that he was being fired by Nancy Pelosi and Tom Daschle because he wanted to enforce McCain-Feingold. He told the story about how they sent a big Union rep to give him the bad news. He also said that his replacements job was to find a way to get around the new McCain-Feingold law.
