<<2000 will be a nice milestone. Normally I would say and given the move we have had no one should be surprised it happen, that we would run into a wall at 2000. Big round numbers in the averages are normally a sell point. This time I don't think so. I see a little rest at 2000, then we move forward as investor see that the sept/oct selling period this year will not be like sept/oct in the past. jmho based in what transpired today and how the market moved near the end of the summer. >>>

The economy is no longer a threat or a worry. Companies are doing much better having downsized and controlled costs. The war has distracted people from concentrating on their market losses. The SEC is forcing some honesty in financial reporting. Brokers are doing well.
So the equities market has become much more appealing as an alternate to the low returns of CD's and MM funds
There has been a big market for company bonds which means there is money available
It seems that each night the Nas fiutures are able to move up and start in a positive territory, which may be due to foreign buyers?.
Altogether I've had a positive feel for this market, but dont know the steps it will take.
Waiting to find OBL and Saddam may not be a good idea. The Administration may not want top admit they are buried under tons of rubble, since that would lessen the threat and make it appear the war against terror was over,
when it is actually just beginning- the hard work, that is.
As far as walls go. Dell fought its way thru 30 in a long battle, and is now bumping 35. I think there were walls like that on many of the large techs and some are breaking loose- perhaps Qcom and Yahoo.
Bears were not able to crank things down this week for options Friday, and that will cost them a bundle.
Weaken the whole tribe (g)

So I guess its kind of open territory above 2000 NAS as most sellers will have vacated the premises by then and will think of becoming buyers
