Without Having to Be Coupled to Your Present Voice Processing System
iVoice, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: IVOC), a leader in Speech Recognition, announced today that it will be working with Wizzard Software (OTCBB: WIZD), a leader in the speech recognition applications development market. In cooperation they will develop a standalone Voice Enabled Unified Text-to-Speech E-mail Reader. As increasing numbers of people are using e-mail, the market is demanding more and more from this medium. The mobile phone is becoming the universal front-end and classical information support. In the fast-paced business environment today, there is a need for quick access and response to received e-mail characterized by easy access to e-mail by telephone, wherever it is stored, whatever it contains and wherever the user may be. By merging systems, iVoice and Wizzard Software will create the ideal solution by providing voice access to e-mail by telephone. The Unified Text-to-Speech E-mail Reader allows you to call the system and listen to your e-mail messages over the phone. The Unified Messaging system from iVoice uses superior technology to play back your messages in a natural human voice. All e-mail communications are stored in a single mailbox located on an e-mail server along with directories and subscriber information in order to let you access the e-mail system using PC client software such as Microsoft Exchange. Unified Messaging also includes a voice server (with telephone switch integration and voice cards) that is connected to the e-mail system via a LAN. System administrators will appreciate the simplicity of the iVoice Unified Messaging system. The user will also be able to open an attachment in the e-mail, to be played back to them. If it is an audio file it can be played back to the subscriber. If it is any type of ASCII text the iVoice system will copy the text to the clipboard, run it through the TTS engine and pass the audio output back to play, to the subscriber. The Kelsey Group, the leading authority on speech-based technologies and opportunities, is releasing this week its annual "Voice Ecosystem Review and Forecast," in which the firm estimates worldwide revenues from core speech technologies - automated speech recognition (ASR), text-to-speech (TTS), natural language understanding (NLU), embedded speech and attendant infrastructure hardware and software - will grow from $505 million in 2001 to more than $2 billion in 2006. The firm predicts this growth in core speech technologies will trigger a multiplier effect, driving voice-activated and enhanced telephony services revenues to $27 billion by 2006.
