next up on offshore exodus... drug company revenue

excellent interview on CNBC of Mayor Albano of Springfield Mass
his little town will save $25 million (did I hear right?) by turning to Canadian sources for prescription drug fills
each year, every year
he complained of 20% annual rise in cost !!!

just another sector which will decimate itself from high prices, encouraging their base to appeal to foreign sources

this will have longterm effects on pharma revenues, budgets for R&D, and jobs

what I cite is not directly an exodus of the mfg base to foreign soil, but rather a vaporizing trend of the heavy revenues
just the start
with the Congressional passage of Medicare prescrip drug bill, we will see this effect grow massively
each state, and perhaps even Congress, will pave the road to Canada and maybe even Mexico
the fat profit margins seen for years by drug giants will be cut down, jobs will halt, research will diminish

all because of 20% annual drug cost increases
oy oy oy, jim
