Are you suggesting we vacate Iraq?

No, not anytime soon. I am suggesting we look to the other 95% of government spending for cuts.

Realistically, there is not much that can be cut. And the deficit will be close to a half trillion next year.

We don't have to increased the spending for "butter"; the tax cuts took care of that.

I don't understand what you mean.

There is no money for the butter.......all non military expenditures have been cut while defense is growing. And even with that, we are running a deficit.

But spending on "butter" has increased a lot lately. If we can rain in this increase we should be fine. But there is good reason to worry that the politicians wont do this.

Lately? It hasn't grown in the last year. Besides, the non military side of the budget should not be penalized because the president goes for repeated tax cuts while starting wars that will cost us a small fortune. Apparently, Bush hasn't heard the term budget planning.

And its kind of ridiculous because gov't is neither getting smaller or going away.

It not likely to get smaller but tax cuts also aren't likely. So does that make Cramer and you both ridiculous because you both talk about them?

Cramer is talking about a tax increase. The only reference he made to tax cuts was to say they are part of the current problem. He's not complaining or whining about them.

However, libertarians are forever talking about making gov't smaller and doing all they can to make that premise come true. Of course, it never does but that doesn't stop them from whining 24/7 about the issue.
